Risk Assessment:
Public – Be extra careful when filming near the public as they cannot be expected to know all the standard safety hazards with production equipment. Cables should be thoroughly secured, coiled or taped down, the positioning of equipment needs to be taken under consideration and members of the public should be excluded from filming areas if possible.
Electricity – Because I am using a large amount of equipment on location, electrical hazards are the most likely danger so these hazards will be approaches with extra care and attention. Interviewees will be briefed on the safety procedures to avoid hazards. Cables should be either secured at all times through being coiled up or taped down to avoid hazards. Cameras, audio equipment and all other electronics should be operated with care at all times and tested beforehand. Everyone should be made aware of trip hazards if they occur and keep all electronics from harm.
Access – All entrances and exits must be accessible and with a clear route. All corridors, stairs, doorways must be clear of trip hazards such as equipment.
Evacuation – The assembly points, fire exits and evacuation procedures have been clearly stated beforehand, follow directions of location staff.
First aid –Incase of emergency, on the first page of this call sheet is the address and number for the local hospital. Robin is also trained in first aid.
Manual handling – Let Robin know if a person is suffering from a long-term injury or if there is any reason why they shouldn’t be lifting heavy equipment or under bright lights. Trolleys will be used if possible to reduce lifting injuries.
Elevator has passed college safety inspection however maintain awareness when climbing in and out especially when doors are closing.
